Verve Fashion Shows

Some of the general trends seen at the AW18 shows in New York were geometric and angled cuts of material that continued from the SS showings. A wide selections of fabrications from laces and tulles to wools, laser cut and printed fabrics, but also rich natural fibers, wools, and eco-friendly resources. The wide differences in fabrication affected how each outfit drapes when they have different fabrications in a single garment with the result of architectural structure over soft covering, or detailed tailoring.

The colors and fabrics are generally rich and classic, muted except for rich, deep, reds, lots of sequins, some shine, lots of interesting choices of transparencies either above or below the waist. We are seeing a divergence of visions: elegance and understated on one side and bold and brash on the other. The most interesting lines cross back and forth between the two visions.
